    Core Day Exemption

This course consists of a Core training day (Day 1) followed by the Petrol Retail sector-specific training (Day 2).

You may be eligible to skip Day 1 if you have successfully completed one of the recognised health and safety courses listed below.

The length of time your certificate is valid does not change the 3-year requirement. The 3 year period is based on the date you completed the course, not the expiry date shown on your certificate. Example: if you completed the CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme course on 1st January 2024, your certificate will be valid until January 2029, but the SPA Day Core Exemption applies for 3 years from the course completion date only. After 1st January 2027, it cannot be used as an exemption.
